What you will be doing:
With this exciting opportunity you will get a chance to provide Submarine Class Structural Engineering Assurance that the design and as-built product stands up to the requirements and needs of the Submarine Delivery Agency and its' end user, the Royal Navy. These assurance activities are conducted through a range of ship builder / supplier facing work packages and hands on surveillance to enable a full assessment of the product though the design and manufacture stages to delivery into service.
- The candidate will have a desire to work closely with the product and engage in regular on-site assurance activities.
- The candidate will be self-driven and seek their own opportunities to explore and review areas of the engineering design and product in pursuit of the team's assurance activities. Responsibilities will include:
- Functional and build performance: Review and approval of functional design, review and approval of as built product
- System reporting: Production of technical assurance papers to demonstrate system design compliancy
- Safety: Production, review and approval of safety justifications
- Supplier management: Ensuring suppliers deliver products to requirement
- Risk and change management: Support the appropriate capture and management, deal with change management through approved business processes including concession management and change control
