As a Project Control Cost Manager, you will be responsible for the integration of cost information for the Alliance programme. You will manage/verify the cost inputs that feed into the Alliance Joint Cost Model (AJCM) which is the single source of truth for cost data to enable the Alliance’s governance structures and organisation to operate effectively with timely, accurate and consistent visibility of the Dreadnought Programme’s cost information. 

The Alliance Cost team is responsible for providing assured costing data for each of the parties which will be capable of supporting annual and quarterly costing exercises for the UK premier defence programme working on complex data to tight deadlines.  The Project Control Cost Manager is a pivotal role to achieving these goals and will link closely with the Alliance MI processes to enable the Alliance senior team to make quick and effective ‘Best for Programme’ decisions.

This role provides exposure to the customer’s ways of working and requires a different approach. You will manage key interfaces at Project Management level, working with stakeholders across multiple functions and grade structures. The role involves day to day management of the cost team supporting the BAES aspects of the Dreadnought Programme

Your main responsibilities as a Project Control Cost Manager will involve:

Providing day-to-day direction and line management responsibility for the cost team

Building effective relationships with the finance / cost controls leaders within BAE and SDA and manage the inputs and timetable, in particular the Monthly budget / spend analysis, cash claim, and annual budgeting processes for the BAES work scope.

Providing support and data and act as the key interface to the Alliance Project Contract Managers for the BAES work scope

Providing detailed analysis / reconciliation on a monthly basis to support in year budget management and cash claims

Providing support to the Alliance Team and the management of the agreed base costs and movements between risk, uncertainty and opportunity budgets

Provision of Quarterly BAES EAC reconciliations for use within the Alliance
