Senior Cost Performance Manager - (Planning, Monitoring & Control Manager - Controls)
Would you like to be a key member of the team that is responsible for establishing and managing a world-class project controls regime in a cross-party Programme Alliance?  We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Cost Performance Manager within the Dreadnought Alliance Project Controls Team.

The Cost Performance Team is a new part of the Alliance Project Controls Team, with the focus on providing insight on the critical cost drivers underpinning the success of the Programme.

As Senior Cost Performance Manager, you will be supporting the Dreadnought Alliance Project Controls Director in building and enabling an enduring cost performance management capability in line with best practice APM methodologies.  This includes supporting the setting of the Alliance Performance Measurement Baseline (APMB), defining & deploying the cost performance strategy and facilitating the development of capability within your team to deliver cost intelligence data and analysis.

This challenging role will provide you with the opportunity to build and shape a new project controls team; which will be responsible for delivering management information (underpinned by robust analysis) that enables the Dreadnought Alliance to make best for programme decisions.  You will also gain exposure to a wide stakeholder network both within BAE Systems and the Alliance partners.

We are currently operating a hybrid working model and, whilst location across the UK is flexible, sporadic travel to Barrow-in-Furness in line with Project requirements will be essential. Relocation support will be considered.

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Cost Performance Manager will involve:
Embedding the Alliance Project Controls Strategy to drive improved cost performance.
Providing day-to-day management and capability development of the project controls cost performance team.
Using benchmarking and working collaboratively with Alliance cost estimating teams to feedback cost performance trends into the basis of estimate.
Assuring relevant cost reporting data and driving continuous improvement in data quality and integrity.
Providing an agreed cost intelligence service which enables scrutiny, challenge and an understanding of the programme trends, performance to date, variances and forecasts.
Developing relationships across multiple organisations to drive joint understanding and clear communications with respect to cost performance data.
Developing the project controls cost performance team and supporting capability development with relevant training
What we're looking for in you:
You will have the ability to manage highly capable, cross-functional teams, and exert influence both within and outside direct line management.
You will have an understanding of (and experience in promoting) collaboration both inside and outside your direct team, valuing the diversity of people and perspectives.
You should display strong leadership behaviours and a passion for driving team performance.
You will be able to explore different ways of doing things by delegating decision making effectively, exploring options in order to overcome obstacles and responding quickly to changing business circumstances.
You will have the ability to keep things simple and remove complexity.
You will be able to communicate with clarity, brevity and simplicity, set simple, tangible priorities, and eliminate complexity for faster customer delivery.
You will be an ambassador for the Alliance's core values of safety, timeliness, cost, innovation and collaboration
